Room 5 – Kitchen & Laundry
Amazing transformations see couples use their bonus points resulting in another win for Jenna and Josh!
Leaving behind the heritage restoration front of the houses, the couples this week move into the new build section of the houses and the demanding week that is Kitchen and Laundry delivery with an interesting twist/challenge of incorporating the existing chimney and original cast iron stove into their designs. Here we start to see the introduction of Stegbar’s aluminium products for a more modern look and each of the houses featured Stegbar Aluminium Windows and External Doors in addition to Corinthian internal hinged doors in their laundries.
The couple’s designs are all uniquely different and for Mark and Duncan, and Josh and Jenna they decide to flip their floor plans and move their kitchens to the rear of their houses opening out onto their backyards revealing the installation of Stegbar aluminium bi-fold doors. In the boys’ kitchen, they also take the traditional glass splashback finish and turn it on its head by incorporating a cowhide between two pieces of glass!
Off the back of their win for their third bedroom conversion, Amity and Phil play the ace card in their overall house design this week by delivering a kitchen and unveiling stairs to an upper level attic/loft parents retreat which wows the judges. Showing just how far her design savvy has come, Amity opted for glass balustruding for her stairs and balcony and also incorporated an extra Stegbar Showerscreen in her laundry making their house the only one this series to effectively be able to be marketed and sold as a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom residence.
