Ambrose and Wood Brothers/JTG Racing Feature in Survival of the Fastest on Speed Channel

08 June 2007

Marcos Ambrose and Wood Brothers/JTG Racing will be highlighted on the next three episodes of Survival of the Fastest on the SPEED Channel across the United States beginning with Episode One tonight at 8:00pm USEDT.

Survival of the Fastest goes behind closed doors with NASCAR Nextel Cup teams as they plan and prepare to survive the ultra-competitive world of stock car racing, telling the story over a period of several weeks and from the perspective of several different characters.

Unprecedented access to team meetings, strategy sessions and radio communication gives a glimpse into the lives of the principal players, from team managers and crew chiefs to drivers and pit crews.

‘Fly on the wall’ cinematography makes viewers feel like part of the team and living the NASCAR life. The result is a complete depiction of what it takes to compete in racing’s top series, from checkered flag to green flag, on a weekly basis.

Episode One centers on filming beginning with the week leading up to the Dover International Speedway event last week and features footage from the #21 Nextel Cup team, as well as both Busch Series teams, the #47 Clorox Ford Fusion of Jon Wood and the #59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford Fusion driven by Marcos Ambrose.

Highlights from week one include footage from the ride session conducted by Marcos Ambrose himself for guests from his native country of Australia as part of his inaugural Marcos Ambrose NASCAR Tour presented by Orrcon at the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Also featured is a road course test session in Kershaw, South Carolina with Bill Elliott and the 21 crew and an unprecedented trip to the AeroDyn Wind Tunnel in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Footage was also shot on location at Dover International Speedway as the team prepared for the Autism Speaks 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup event - and the ensuing rain delay, which pushed the event back to Monday.

Featured sit down interviews were conducted at the team’s headquarters in Harrisburg, North Carolina and include interviews with Marcos Ambrose, driver of the #59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford Fusion, Scott Zipadelli, crew chief of the #47 Clorox Ford and Michael ‘Fatback’ McSwain, crew chief of the #21 Little Debbie Ford Fusion.

Upcoming episodes, shot this week leading to the Pocono event, and on into next week prior to the Michigan race, will include a behind the scenes look at the Wood Brothers/JTG Marketing Department - as they put the plans in motion on the execution of their complex promotional programs that keep the sponsors’ programs moving forward.

Air dates for Episode One debut Friday night, June 8th at 8:00pm USEDT on the SPEED Channel, with a re-broadcast set for 10:30am Sunday, June 10th prior to the start of the Pocono 500 at Pocono Raceway.
