09 June 2007

Marcos Ambrose has made a steady start to the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennessee today.

Ambrose has posted top 20 times in both the open practice sessions for the day, with 18th fastest in opening practice backed up by 13th fastest in final practice.

Between these sessions Ambrose was third fastest in rookie practice in the #59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford Fusion around the 1.333-mile all-concrete speedway.

Ambrose will continue his run tomorrow with qualifying and the Federated Auto Parts 300, race 15 in the NASCAR Busch Series.

Ambrose currently sits eighth in the NASCAR Busch Series standings and shares the lead of the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings with fellow Ford driver David Ragan.

“We had a good day today and things are on track for a good weekend,” said Ambrose.

“This is a speedway that I have been to before and I feel comfortable driving here. This team is really on a high, especially after last weekend at Dover.

“Nashville is the first track I will race for the second time in a Busch car so it’s good to have that experience in the back of our minds when we work at getting our car right for the race.

“We worked at the Kingsford car all day today and had it working better as the day went on.

“The team is working really well together and we’re all going to be giving it everything we’ve got to get a good result for all our sponsors and supporters tomorrow.”
