AMBROSE FANS CAN HELP GET AMBROSE IN THE CHASE FOR CHEX MOST POPULAR DRIVER …

Marcos Ambrose fans can help lock their favourite driver into this year’s Chase …

No, not the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, but the Chase for the 2009 NASCAR NMPA Chex Most Popular Driver Award.

A new format for the award brings a new twist, with a system that reflects the Chase format that decides each season’s Sprint Cup champion – and gives fans of all drivers even more involvement.

The new format:

All 44 Sprint Cup drivers are eligible to receive votes from 10 February 2009 to 13 September 2009
On 14 September 2009, with 10 weeks left in the season, the voting field will be narrowed down to the 10 drivers with the most votes – this comes on the same weekend where the field for the Chase for the Sprint Cup is decided at Richmond
The vote count will be reset to ZERO for these remaining 10 drivers
The remaining 34 drivers will not be eligible to receive any more votes for the remainder of the season
Only these remaining 10 drivers will be eligible to win the 2009 Chex Most Popular Driver Award
Of these 10 drivers, the one with the most votes in the final 10 weeks of the season will win the 2009 Chex Most Popular Driver Award
All voting will end on 23 November 2009. The 2009 Chex Most Popular Driver Award winner will be revealed at the annual National Motorsports Press Associations’ Media Luncheon in New York City in December 2009

Racing fans - the fate of the 2009 Chex Most Popular Driver Award is in YOUR hands! Make sure your favorite driver makes it into the Top 10.

To vote you will need to register online at chexmostpopulardriver.com.

Once you register, YOU CAN VOTE ONCE A DAY, EVERY DAY, so make the site your homepage or set reminders so that the votes for Marcos keep rolling in!

RADIO ALERT – AMBROSE TO FEATURE ON ABC GRANDSTAND THIS SATURDAY …

Marcos Ambrose will feature on ABC Grandstand radio nationally between 12:30pm and 1:00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time on Saturday (tomorrow).

ABC Grandstand host Karen Tighe will interview Ambrose in the lead-up to this weekend’s Auto Club 500 in Fontana, California and just one week after he made history by becoming the first Australian to race in the Daytona 500.
