Saints encourage supporters to donate

13 January 2011

The St Kilda Football Club is asking all its members and supporters to assist the hundreds of thousands of people currently affected by the devastating floods in Queensland by donating to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal.

St Kilda is pleased to announce that the Club has donated $20,000 to the relief as part of the AFLs overall donation of $500,000.

Our thoughts go out to everyone affected by the flood, including our vast supporter base in Queensland. Many communities have been devastated, lives have been lost and thousands of families have now been left with nothing.

The re-building process for these communities will cost millions of dollars, and take many years to complete. You can help make a difference by making a financial donation to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal. Unfortunately this appeal cannot accept donations of goods or services.

After close consultation with AFL Queensland - themselves affected by the flood - St Kilda Football Club is currently exploring ways we can assist as an organisation towards the redevelopment process of local football clubs in the affected areas.

To find out how to donate please visit www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.

We thank all St Kilda members and supporters for their support of this appeal.
