JELD-WEN Windows and Doors shares decade of fun on The Block with online friends

JELD-WEN Windows and Doors has celebrated 10 years of transforming every home on Australia’s largest renovation reality series, The Block, by sharing all the fun of the prime time show with customers and friends via a major social media and Facebook campaign.

JELD-WEN reached the decade-long association with Channel Nine’s The Block this year with The Block All Stars and the subsequent series, The Block Sky HighThe Block All Stars was won by mum and dad team Phil and Amity from Adelaide, who also starred in the first series of the show 10 years ago. The pair garnered a massive $295,000 profit at The Block auction broadcast across the country on March 20 for their full renovated home featuring a swathe of JELD-WEN Windows and Doors products.

“It’s been an incredible association with The Block for the past 10 years,’’ says JELD-WEN Windows and Doors acting marketing chief Chris Barker.  “But it was also time for us to bring in our fresh ideas.”

Using the JELD-WEN Australia Facebook page, introduced this year, Australia’s leading supplier of quality windows and doors products established and built a fan base and engaged with Facebook ‘friends’ primarily through The Block-related ‘conversations’.

Further encouraging the online activity, a designated “Block” microsite which contained all of JELD-WEN’s relevant product information hung off the JELD-WEN, Stegbar and Corinthian websites.

The use of Facebook and the microsite linked to JELD-WEN Windows and Doors’ successful competition which offered a weekly prize over the duration of The Block series of ‘WIN $2,000 off your quote”.

 This competition was promoted across print, online, microsite, and Facebook platforms and visitors had to visit the competition page on either the microsite or our Facebook page and submit a request for quotation.
