VELUX Skylights are for overhead, out-of-reach applications where abundant natural light is required. Skylights are generally installed with a light shaft from the ceiling in a room such as a kitchen, living area, bedroom or bathroom.

VELUX Roof windows are for within-reach applications such as attics and lofts and will usually be the only source of natural light for that room.

VELUX Sun Tunnels are best suited in special situations where a skylight or roof window will not fit, ideal for cupboards, hallways, toilets and small areas.

Energy Efficiency Rating

The windows Energy Rating Scheme (WERS) scientific tests provide a star rating system with 5 stars being the maximum achievable. All VELUX Skylight have received either 4.5 or 5 stars.

Tested and approved to Australian Standards.

The VELUX product range has been tested to and meets AS 4285, the Australian Standard for skylights:

  • Water Tightness
  • Non cyclonic wind loads
  • Cyclonic wind loads
  • Concentrated load tests (120 kg, CSIRO report no. FCO-2024).

Electric Openable Skylights

An openable skylight not only gives you light it also provides ventilation and adds value to your home.

It’s perfect for any room that needs natural light and fresh air. With the touch of a button your VELUX Skylight opens to let fresh air in and bring natural light into your home.

With an electric remote control, opening and closing windows and blinds is as easy as pushing a button. Your VELUX Electric Openable skylight comes with a pre-installed concealed motor, control system and two rain sensors that automatically close your skylight during stormy weather.

Electric remote control: WLR 160 – Standard control

Blinds are available in:

Pre-wired for the addition of electronically operated Blockout or Venetian blinds which can then be operated by the remote control (WLR 160).

Manual Openable Skylights

VELUX Manual Openable Skylights will give you as much light and ventilation as an electric model. It is manually operated and depending on the position of the skylight opening and closing is controlled by a handle or a rod.

It is specifically designed for within-reach applications e.g. attics.

Fixed Skylights

A fixed skylight will give you the full benefit of the light but no ventilation.
  • Therefore it is suitable for rooms where adequate ventilation already exists. Energy efficient glazing and the use of blinds ensures heat transference is minimized.
  • Select wood frame with gasket to drain condensation outside, plus exterior protective aluminium cladding.
  • Flashing for corrugated iron or title roofs
  • Choice of High Performance or Comfort double glazing on most sizes.
  • Streamlined exterior – smooth low profile does not obstruct the roofline.
  • 5 stars on WERS.
  • Available in 8 sizes.

Curb Mounted Skylights

The Curb-Mounted fixed skylight is the ideal product to be installed in a commercial or industrial building such as schools, warehouses, offices - the list is endless!

The Curb-Mounted Skylight is sized to work with all types of site-built curb. And since the FCM has no designated top, bottom, or sides, you can install it in whatever direction you want.

The Curb-Mounted Skylight is built out of aluminium and low-e coated, argon insulated glazing. All materials composing the FCM are non-combustible and therefore ideal for all applications in commercial building.
 
   
GGL roof window

GGL Roof Windows

The VELUX GGL Roof Window has been specifically designed for in-reach applications e.g. lofts and attics. Where furniture cab be positioned beneath the window. The quality is as good as any VELUX and it meets the needs of anyone who wants to create more space.
  • Top control bar allows the windows to rotate for maximum ventilation – and up to 180˚ for cleaning the outer pane from inside the room.
  • A short pull on the control bar allows filtered background ventilation even while the window remains shut.
  • Quality lacquered pine sash and frame.

The GGL Roof Window comes with a built-in handle and can rotate 180 degrees. This ensures maximum ventilation and easy cleaning, even on the outside.

Installing a GGL Roof Window is no hassle at all thanks to a new and improved flashing. All roof windows are delivered lacquered so they’re well protected from the elements.

GHL Roof Windows

The VELUX GHL Roof Window has been specifically designed for in-reach applications e.g. lofts and attics. The quality is as good as any VELUX and it meets the needs of anyone who wants to create more space.
  • Opens in two ways: the bottom handle allows for top-hung opening; while a short pull on the top control bar operates the filtered vent for background ventilation even while the window is shut.
  • A longer pull allows the sash to rotate 180˚ for ease of cleaning the outer pane from inside the room.
  • Quality lacquered pine sash and frame.

The GHL Roof Window comes with a built-in handle and can rotate 180 degrees. This ensures maximum ventilation and easy cleaning, even on the outside.

Sun Tunnels

Sun Tunnels are best suited in locations where a skylight or roof window will not fit. Sun Tunnels are ideal for cupboards, hallways, toilets and small areas.

Many houses have bathrooms, hallways and other rooms where daylight only enters when you open the door. Dim and dark, these rooms are unwelcoming places until you turn on the light.

Now that has all changed.

The VELUX Sun tunnel signals the end of dim and dismal spaces in the home. The VELUX Sun tunnel brings natural light into even the darkest and most isolated spaces through a specially designed, flexible tunnel from roof to ceiling.

From the outside it looks similar to a classical VELUX roof window with its elegant flat design and clear glass. From the inside it diffuses light captured from the sky into every corner of the bathroom or hallway, transforming it into a place where you will often stop awhile to savour the essence and tranquility of natural light.

High Performance Double Glazing

High Performance double glazing is standard on electric openable, manual openable and fixed skylights. It consists of two panes of toughen safety glass dual-sealed and injected with argon gas. The inner pane consists of two sheets of heat strengthened safety glass laminated together for maximum safety.
